Take a booking
Put your services and your hours on your site, and let people pick a time that lands on your own calendar.
Somebody is looking at your site at nine at night and wants Tuesday morning. This is how they get it without you.
1. Add the service, with a length
On Sell, Offers, set Type to A service and fill in How long it takes. The length is what makes a bookable time: without it the checkout refuses the booking, so the service would sit on your page and do nothing.
Set Where to In person or Over video. Over video adds a meeting room to the calendar event.
2. Set the page to show bookings
On Website, Design, under What your page does, choose Take bookings. A page set to sell products lists nothing that is a service, so this is the step people miss. If you sell both, Sell, Offers offers Show both on my page.
3. Say when you are open
On Sell, Bookings, under When you are open, set your days and hours. Times are your own wall clock in your own time zone, so nine means nine where you are.
4. Connect your calendar
Under Your calendar, connect Google Calendar, Outlook or Calendly. We read your free and busy times, so a slot you have already filled is never offered to anybody.
Calendly is connect-only: we can send a booking to it, and it does not hand its busy times back. Google and Outlook do both. Settings, Connections reports which yours can do.
What the customer sees
Your services, a calendar, and the times that are actually free. They pick one, pay if the service has a price, and it lands on your calendar with a confirmation in their inbox carrying your name.
If no times are offered
Work down this list, because it is nearly always one of them:
- The service has no length.
- Your page is set to sell products rather than to take bookings.
- You have set no open hours.
- The hours you set are already full on your connected calendar.
