# Set things up the first time
Pick a look, add one thing to sell, and open. About twenty minutes, and Home tells you what is left.

**Before you start:** A paid account

**About 20 minutes.**

The store exists and nobody can see it yet. Four things stand between here and open, and Home keeps score under **Needs You** so you never have to remember which.

## 1. Pick a look

We suggest one for your trade and what you sell, with two alternates. Open **Website, Design** and every look shows itself as your business, with your name and words already in it.

> **On screen:** Website, Design: your look, with the other looks below it

Switching later keeps your words. Nothing you write is tied to the design you chose first.

## 2. Say what your page does

On **Website, Design**, under your look, **What your page does** decides what the page lists:

- **Sell products** puts your offers on it, each with a price and a Buy button.
- **Take bookings** puts your services on it, with a calendar people pick a time on.
- **Get leads** lists neither, and is the look as designed with a way to get in touch.

If you sell both, **Sell, Offers** notices and offers **Show both on my page** in one press. Getting this wrong is the commonest reason something you added is not on your site.

## 3. Add one thing

One offer opens the store. A file to download, or a service with a length. See [sell your first product](/help/merchant/sell-your-first-product) and [take a booking](/help/merchant/take-a-booking).

## 4. Connect where you get paid

On **Money, Payments**, one click to your Square or Stripe. If you have neither yet, skip it: the store opens and says plainly that it is not taking payments yet.

## Then it is open

Your store is live at **yourname.sitelaunch.io** the moment the last item is done, and at your own address once you [connect a domain](/help/merchant/connect-your-domain).

> **On screen:** Home, with one item left before the store opens
