Put your store on your own address

Your store works at yourname.sitelaunch.io straight away. This is how it gets to the name you bought.

Your store already works. Somebody typed your name into a browser and got somebody else, and that is what this fixes.

Before you start

Confirm your email if you have not. This screen stays closed until you do, because we write to you when the check passes.

1. Say which name

Open Website, Domain. Under Use your own domain, type it in. A whole name like spanielandco.com, or a part of one like shop.yourbrand.com if you already use the main name elsewhere.

2. Paste two lines where you bought it

Sign in wherever you bought the name, find where it lists records, and add the two we show you under The technical bit. Both are needed: one sends visitors to your store, the other proves the name is yours.

The Name box is the part that catches people. Most providers add your own name to whatever you type, so pasting the whole thing produces spanielandco.com.spanielandco.com and nothing works. Put in only what we show: @ for the main name, or the short part on its own.

If a box asks for TTL, leave it alone or use the lowest it offers.

3. Press the button

Check my DNS looks for both lines. Changes can take a few minutes to travel, and occasionally a few hours, so if it says it cannot find them yet, wait and press it again.

Once it passes, the padlock usually arrives within a few minutes and we keep it on for you afterwards.

Which line you get

• A whole name like spanielandco.com gets an A record, because a name at that level cannot use anything else.
• A part of one like shop.yourbrand.com gets a CNAME, which follows us if our address ever changes.

The page shows you the right one. You do not have to know which you have.

Your old address keeps working

yourname.sitelaunch.io does not stop. Anything you have already shared still lands.
