Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your store

Let an assistant you already use read your store and make changes, with you approving what it may touch.

You already talk to an assistant all day. This lets it work on your store instead of telling you how to.

What it can do

Once connected, your assistant can read your store and change it: add offers, rewrite your page, build a lander, set your hours.

Everything it writes is a draft. Nothing a visitor sees changes until a publish, and publishing is a separate permission you grant on purpose.

Offers are the exception, as they are everywhere: an offer is live the moment it is added. Your assistant is told this, so it says which it did after every change.

Connecting

Open Settings, Connections and follow it through. You sign in as yourself and choose what to allow:

• Read your store.
• Write to the draft.
• Publish what has been written.

You can grant the first two and keep the third, which is the sensible place to start.

Which store

If you are on the team of more than one store, the connection page asks which one. Each connection works on the store you pick there, and only that one.

One connection for all your clients

If you run stores for clients and your connection page offers Also your client stores, one connection can work on every client store you are on the team of, as well as your own. Your assistant names the store each time, and each time we check it is your client and that you are on its team. What it may do there is your role in that store, not in yours: if a client made you a viewer, it only reads.

It can also list your clients, show you which store needs you first, and see what happened across all of them. Putting a client on your card, or making a new client store, is only ever a proposal: it waits on Settings, Connections until you approve it.

Nothing is destroyed

Nothing your assistant does is a deletion. Every write is recorded and can be undone from your console, so a bad instruction costs you a minute, not your page.

If your assistant cannot see the new thing

Assistants cache the list of what a connection can do. After we add something, remove the sitelaunch connector and add it again. Reconnecting alone is often not enough.

What it cannot do

It cannot touch your card, your subscription, or your Square or Stripe account. Those are yours and they are not on the connection.

This is not your chief of staff

The assistant on Home that you named when you met it answers from your store's figures and remembers what you tell it; it lives in the console and changes nothing. This page is about an assistant you already use elsewhere, given a way to work on your store.
