Change your words and pictures
Every line on your page, edited beside a live preview. Switching looks later keeps what you wrote.
The look came with somebody else's words in it. This is where they become yours, and you can see each change as you make it.
Website, Edit is your page beside a form
Open Website, Edit. The left is Sections, every part of your page in the order it appears, each with its own words, rows and photographs; the right is your store, painting as you type. Switch a section off to take it off your page.
The fields are not a guess. Each look declares what it has, so a look with three photo boxes offers three, and one with none offers none.
Edit
What lives where
- Website, Edit is the sections and their words, rows and photographs.
- Website, Design is your look, its colors and text size, and what your page does: get leads, sell products, or take bookings.
- Website, Pages is any extra page beyond the first.
- Website, Forms is what a visitor can send you from the page.
- Your phone, address, opening hours and social links, the facts every page repeats, are under Settings, Account and the full editor's Business tab.
- The two documents publish refuses until you have accepted them are the full editor's Legal tab.
Everything else, including a look's own markup once you have made it this store's own, is in the full editor, which Website, Edit links to.
The tabs
The full editor has five:
- Page is every section of your page in the order they appear, each holding its own words, rows and photographs. It is also where you say what the page IS: a shop, bookings, both, or a landing page, and where a video or a calendar goes.
- Business is the facts every page repeats: your phone, address, opening hours and social links, which the page and your receipts both read.
- Style is your colors and the text size.
- Code is the look's own markup, once you have made it this store's own.
- Legal is the two documents publish refuses until you have accepted them.
There is no Words tab. Your words live inside the section they belong to, because a look's FAQ used to have its heading in one tab and its questions in another with nothing saying they were halves of the same thing.
Have them written for you
Write my words rewrites the words on your page from what you say about your business, and Put my old words back undoes it. It can rewrite them three times a day and ten times a month, so read a draft and change what is not right by hand rather than asking for another; editing by hand has no limit. Where you can connect your own AI key under Settings, Connections, rewrites on it have no limit either.
Nothing is live until you publish
Editing changes your draft. Press Publish and the page a visitor sees catches up.
Offers are the exception and always have been: an offer is on your store the moment you add it, with no publish. Everything on this page waits.
Switching looks keeps your words
On Website, Design, switching to a different look carries your text across. You are not starting again, so trying one costs you nothing.
Colors, and what a color actually paints
The color controls on Website, Design are your look's own roles: the accent, the ink, the paper, and a few more where the look uses them. A control that does nothing on your look is not shown.
If you pick a dark accent, check Text on the accent too. That is the one that leaves people with white text on pale yellow.
