# Your receipt, and why it matters
The link in your receipt email is the key to everything you bought. Keep it.

You bought something from a shop that runs on sitelaunch. The shop is theirs; we are the software underneath it.

## The link is the key

Your receipt email has a link to a receipt page on the shop's own address. That page is not just a record of what you paid. It is the **only** key to what you bought.

There is no account and no password. Anybody holding that link holds the purchase, which is why it is a long string of random characters and why it is worth keeping.

## What is on it

- What you bought, what you paid, and the day you paid it.
- A **Download** button, if you bought a file.
- The lessons, if you bought a course.
- A note from the seller, if they wrote one.
- A **Claim your website** button, if you bought a website.

## If you lost it

Search your email for the shop's name. If it is really gone, write to the shop. They can see the order and send the link again.

## If the page says it cannot find that order

The link is wrong or incomplete. A mail client that broke it across two lines is the usual cause. Copy the whole thing out of the email rather than clicking it.

A wrong link and a link to somebody else's order read exactly the same, on purpose, so nobody can go fishing.
